Balance

Recently I was introduced to another multi level marketing (mlm) company. I understand the concept of these companies and how you could make a lot of money in them. These businesses work great for some people, however they just don't work for me. I can't persuade anyone to do anything. But for people who can it's a great opportunity.

This is the third mlm that I have been introduced to. All along something has bugged me about them. Until now I couldn't put my finger on it. A few nights ago, I was spending my second evening talking about and learning about this mlm. My spirit was still unsettled about these mlm's. As we continued talking about the product and the company, it finally was revealed to me what bothered me about them. It is that with every mlm that has been introduced to me, it has been fellow Christians that are introducing it to me. They are so excited about the company and the possibilities. They are excited to share this opportunity with everyone around them. Yet we are not excited to share Jesus with people around us. We spend more time and more thought about these mlm's than about Christ.

As a long time Christian, I understand that the gospel can become old hat. These mlm's are new and exciting. The most recent mlm that was introduced to me has said several times in meetings and marketing that this will change your life. But how much more does Jesus change our lives.

As I realized this is what was bothering me about the mlm's, I decided I needed to make a change. I need to spend more time focused on what has completely changed my life. I need to be more excited about the difference He is making in my life.

All in all, I am not saying that mlm's are bad or we shouldn't be a part of them. I am saying we need balance in our lives. We need to be more aware of where our focus is. We need to be more aware of God working in our lives. And we need to be excited to share the Changer of lives.
